Sport - Humphreys to miss Italy clash

Ireland fly-half David Humphreys has been ruled out of action for at least eight weeks. He damaged a tendon in his hand in last Saturday's 30-13 Five Nations defeat against Scotland. The injury rules him out of contention for a place in the Irish team to play Italy in Dublin on April 10.

Eric Elwood, who lost his place to Humphreys for the Five Nations Championship, now looks certain to return to the team. Humphreys had played throughout this season's Championship and scored eight points to fall two short of breaking Ollie Campbell's Irish Five Nations record of 52 in a season.
