He became a household name when he started calling aspiring chefs "idiot sandwiches" on Hell's Kitchen, and now Gordon Ramsay has turned his ire to the amateur cooks of TikTok.

Don't worry though, it's all in good fun.
On his extremely on-brand TikTok account, the celebrated chef is critiquing your lamb sauce, calling you an idiot sandwich and generally destroying any confidence you built up in lockdown in his hilarious joke videos.
TikTok has boomed in popularity in recent months, not least thanks to the many food hacks, home recipes, and meal plans shared on the app.

And while Ramsay was initially using his account to post dance videos with his daughter Tilly and an alarming stint copying Brad Pitt's street style, he has found his calling in calling out the dodgy creations.
It all started when TikTok user @jchelle36 – an American woman living in the UK – shared her "recipe" for "British fish and chips". Sharing his reaction side-by-side with the original video, Ramsay was simply horrified.
"Go to your local watering hole", Michelle says, adding "Find your fish". "Find your what?" replies Ramsay, and from then on it's a stream of flustered objections from the Michelin-starred chef.

"There's nothing British about that", he says at one point, and ends the video saying "You've never been to Britain".
Since then, Ramsay has issued a call-out to users, asking them to send him their cooking videos for him to praise or good-naturedly critique.
Videos so far have included a creamy meatball recipe from a so-called "shirtless chef boy" – "One Naked Chef was enough!" shouts Ramsay – a bread and butter pudding from a smiley granddad, who forgot a "spoonful of jam to glaze it", according to the chef and an ice cream sandwich made with two slabs of chocolate sandwiched together by Nutella – "heart attack sandwich", according to Ramsay.
But our current favourite is a video of such chaotic cooking, it forced Ramsay to sing. A recipe for "the best and easiest sweet potato mash ever" shows the cook putting sweet potatoes in a bowl with a few lime wedges and cooking them in the microwave – all while singing what he's doing.

Next, he finely chops some coriander, adds some soy sauce and mango chutney, before roughly chopping the sweet potato and mixing with the herby dressing.
"You don't know how bad you are!" croons the aforementioned Michelin-starred chef.
If you're a glutton for punishment, or always dreamed of being screamed at by Gordon Ramsay, you can still upload your strangest recipe and see if it takes his fancy.
