The 2019 Rugby World Cup kicks off in Japan this Friday and to celebrate, the RTÉ Player asked rugby fans and well-known faces to try all things Japanese. Check it out in the video above.

This is the first time the tournament will be held in Asia, and rugby fans across Ireland are preparing themselves for a bit of a culture shock.

Watch: "I feel like I'm making crystal meth"
Watch: "More nakedness, that's fair enough"
Watch: "We've shown our respect... now get us a McFlurry!"
Watch: "On my god, what is that?!"

Whether you're making the trip over or simply want to get into the spirit of things, now is the perfect time to test your tolerance for wasabi, brush up on your Japanese game shows and warm up those vocals for a spot of karaoke.

Luckily, the RTÉ Player has asked Ireland's biggest rugby fans, including a host of familiar faces, to get a taste for all things Japanese!

The panel of guinea pigs will try everything from Japanese cuisine to art of origami, the perfect entertainment to get you in the mood for the Rugby World Cup.

Watch brand new Trying Japanese on the RTÉ Player or RTÉ.ie every day this week.
