Although he’s closely associated with his roots in Co Cavan, chef Neven Maguire has always had a bit of a travel bug, especially when the trip involves discovering local food. Catherine Lee tagged along with the chef, as he filmed his latest travel and food show in Andalucia. Get a sneak peek of the interview below.
"The thing about Andalucia is that Irish people know it so well. They’ll head to Málaga and down to Marbella, so they only know certain bits, but there’s so much more to discover.
"I’ve been so impressed by the variety and the quality of the food and each part of Andalucia has its own specialties and quirks.
"The Ibérico ham is incredible and the olive oil from Priego de Córdobawas a revelation. I’d be more used to visiting the Basque region, but this place is very different and unique and I hope people get some inspiration from it."
