If you want your carrots to crunch, you need to grow them in a deep, light, stone free, fertile soil.
The extra bit of effort will pay off tenfold as just two or three well-timed sowings of carrots should see you self-sufficient all year round in this classic stockpot vegetable which is full of vitamins.

Elsewhere in tonight's programme, host Karen O’Donohoe investigates FOOD CLOUD and the benefits it brings to the community.
