Each week on Grow Cook Eat, we learn to make our very own home grown veg from sowing the seed, to harvesting and cooking.

This week's programme is all about beetroot - You can boil it, bake it, grate it into salads, make chutneys, wine and even cakes.

Check out Eunice Power's Beetroot Brownie recipe here.

When's the last time you tried beetroot? We bet it's been a while and we bet the last time you had it, it was boiled and drowned in vinegar! If this is the case, it's time to give this colourful veg a second chance.

Beetroot is easy to grow, can be eaten all year round as it stores well, is incredibly good for you, and has multiple uses.

In tonight's episode, the Grow Cook Eat team visit Con Trass’ apple farm in Tipperary and presenter Karen O’Donohoe attempts to plant a small orchard in less than an hour. Can she do it?
