Presented by Michael Kelly and Karen O’Donohoe, Grow Cook Eat shows viewers how to grow their own food every Wednesday on RTÉ One.
Each week, the show focuses on one particular vegetable from sowing the seed, to harvesting and cooking. This week, we're getting a step-by-step guide to growing garlic.

Not only is garlic relatively easy to grow but it stores extremely well and it's surprisingly good for you. Plus, it tastes absolutely delicious.
Take any bulb of garlic, break out the cloves, stick them into the ground spaced about 4 inches apart and voila! Each clove will bloom into a bulb of garlic, ready to cook into some bread, pasta, bolognese, soup or any other number of dishes.

Elsewhere on the show, presenter Karen O’Donohoe heads to Bloom in the Park to talk all things herbs, and the team visit a Dublin school that started a community garden and really gives the children a chance to shine.

As always, the programme ends with a recipe using the featured vegetable made by either Jessica Murphy, from Kai Restaurant in Galway or Jack Kirwan, owner of the Sprout chain of restaurants in Dublin.
