Gill Meller is a Chef, award-winning author and food writer. We caught up with the foodie at this year's Taste of Dublin in the Iveagh Gardens, where he told us about his work at River Cottage and new book Gather.

Speaking on the success of Gather, he said:

"It actually won best debut cookbook of the year a few weeks ago. That's been my big, big focus. I've just started my second book"

Gill has worked with River Cottage, a cookery school and venue for unique dining, for over fifteen years alongside award-winning writer and broadcaster Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

As Group Head Chef for the brand, he has created delicious and ethically sourced dishes. Gill's ethos is to cook with as many local ingredients as possible, in a sustainable and ethical way.

His new book Gather has over 120 recipes inspired by his local surroundings, from orchards and gardens to woodlands and farms.

Watch Gill make roast parsnips with blackberries, honey, chicory & rye flakes in the video below:

Not only does Gill write and style for his cookbooks, he also produces recipe videos for The River Cottage Food Tube channel and regularly teaches at River Cottage HQ.
