Presented by Dáithí Ó Sé, The Taste of Success sees chefs battle it out for their food product, recipe or innovation to win a €100,000 cash prize. To enter, click here for an application.
In addition to applying yourself, RTÉ and Lidl are offering a new way for people to compete in the third season of the show, they’re going global with The Food Flight. The way it works is that if you know an Irish-born chef living abroad, tag and nominate them on Facebook.
The programme will fly the chosen lucky person home from anywhere in the world to take part in the competition. Not bad, plus they’ll be in with a chance to win the €100k!
If the person you nominate goes on to apply, names you on their application and makes it to the roadshow, you could win a €250 Lidl voucher!
The food product that goes on to win the competition will win a contract to grace the shelves of over 140 Lidl stores nationwide. The Taste of Success is open to amateur and professional chefs alike.
Speaking about this year's programme, presenter Ó Sé said: “I’m thrilled the Taste of Success is returning for a third series. I don’t think the standard of food we got last year can be bettered, but I look forward to spending the summer finding out.
"We’ve got some new ideas this year that will make the show extra special. I’m looking forward to meeting the person who gets to fly home from anywhere in the world to compete. It would be amazing if they went on to win it too!"
Domini Kemp, Regional mentor for Dublin added: "I’m really looking forward to the new series of the Taste of Success. It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a great food idea who would love to see it grow into something magical. I’m dying to read all the applications from the Dublin region and looking forward to working with the truly talented people who enter the competition each year."
"I really enjoyed my first stint on the Taste of Success so much last year," said J.P. Mc Mahon who is the regional mentor for Connaught/Ulster.
"It might be largely due to the fact that I mentored the winning dish. Working with Joanne (last year’s winner) and seeing the difference winning the show has made to her life is remarkable. The other regions will be gunning for me now, as I’m the reigning champion, so I urge everyone with a passion for food in the Connaught or Ulster region to apply, because this year, I want to do the double!"
Colm Crowley, Head of RTÉ Cork, added: “We are delighted to be in a position to continue working with our friends in Lidl Ireland on the Taste of Success.
"The new show will be bigger and better than ever. I’m especially excited by our new ‘Food Flight’ addition to the format. Giving one lucky family the chance to re-unite AND potentially win €100,000 is very special."
