Aengus Cox reported on Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 this morning to say that the group, No Fry Zone for Kids Group were celebrating the news.
However one of the leaders of the campaign Basil Millar made a very good point – that at a time when the country is battling childhood obesity why does the burden for battling fast-food chains near our schools fall to the public?
This particular McDonalds would have been located near three schools and within view of children when they are at school.
No Fry Zone for Kids Group are campaigning for legislation to ensure that fast food chains are not located within 400 metres of schools.
