Cosy knits, delicate blouses and suits layered over t-shirts were some of the more eye-catching looks at this year's Golden Globes, as pared back glamour took centre stage.

With the traditional glitzy ceremony off the cards, the stars have taken the opportunity to dress up with glee, giving us looks that could easily be worn on your next Zoom call.

Usually we're drooling over stunning gowns, dazzling diamonds and jaw-dropping beauty looks, wondering how we can work a bit of that glamour into our own wardrobe. But this year's Golden Globes are different, and so is the fashion.

While some went all out in full gowns and pops of bright colour, like Nicola Coughlan, most opted for minimalist separates, sleek slip dresses and monochromatic or muted colour palettes.

Even Nicola paired her gorgeous Molly Goddard yellow tulle gown with a simple grey knit cardigan, proving that comfort and simplicity is the trend of the season.

Knit is it

Breaking all the rules of award show fashion, actor Jared Leto chose a chunky knit navy jumper for his Globes look, embracing the at-home fashion with aplomb. The thick knit, in a large cable knit pattern, featured a high rolled turtle neck and paired with the Dallas Buyers' Club long tresses looked incredibly cosy.

Suits, but simple

A number of stars took the traditional black tie dress code and flipped it on its head, choosing minimalist co-ords in clean colours and pairing them with just a shirt or t-shirt. We loved The Crown's Emma Corrin in a relaxed beige suit worn over a crisp blue shirt and paired with white high-tops – a possible nod to her scene-stealing turn as Princess Diana.

Amanda Seyfried went for a tailored look, too, choosing a teal blazer worn over a simple white shirt, her hair styled in a glossy blow dry and her makeup clean and fresh.

Luxe loungewear

Keke Palmer took loungewear to new glam heights by donning a chic Christian Dior two-piece and not much else.

The bold set featured a beige bandeau top lined in black and embroidered with a floral motif, while the bottoms were high-waisted hot pants in a striking paisley pattern. Paired with silver kitten heel sling backs and a simple gold chain, this was one of our favourite looks of the night.

After wowing viewers as Marianne in Normal People, with her fondness for 60s mini dresses and flowy gowns, Daisy Edgar-Jones went for casual chic in her Golden Globes portrait. Wearing a cropped red jumper with 70s-inspired high-waisted jeans, the star looked every inch the ingenue.
