Megan Mullally, host of the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards had to buy her gown online as designers never offered to dress her.
Best known for her role as Karen Walker in Will & Grace, Megan has two Emmy's and four SAG Awards under her belt. Despite this, the actress says that designers rarely offer to dress her for red carpet events. Not even when she's hosting them, apparently.
In December, when she was announced as host, Mullally posted the following message to her Instagram:
"Yes, I will be hosting!! Thanks, @sagawards! Will I be dressed as a Spanish senorita? We don’t know. Looks like I will be buying my dress online though, as per my usual, even though there is literally a 100 percent chance that I will be on camera because I’M HOSTING IT," she wrote.
"Designers do not send me dresses. I’m online scrolling through the gowns sections of various websites- which I know how to do pretty well at this point- and then I tried to order something from Saks fifth avenue and they canceled my order oh, the glamor of it all.
"In other news, hosting this great show honoring amazing actors is going to be cool, and I may get to meet Olivia Colman. Please send jokes!"
Eventually, Alexander McQueen stepped up to the plate but, unfortunately, the dresses didn't work out, leaving Meghan to shop online for her hosting duties.
While walking the red carpet, the 60-year-old actress told Access Hollywood: "I always pick out clothes online and buy my own stuff because, first of all, I like it because I can just wear what I want to wear but also the major designers are not interested in sending me any dresses."
"Alexander McQueen did send two dresses but they didn’t work out, but this is an Alexander McQueen dress that I bought online," she explained.
"I said, 'I am literally hosting, there is a 100 percent chance that I will be on camera'. But people were like, ‘No, no thanks.’ But that’s OK. I think it’s funny but I think it’s interesting for people to know that because I think everybody in the general public thinks well everybody is getting dresses thrown at them left and right, but that’s not actually the case."

In the end, Megan killed her hosting duties while wearing a black Alexander McQueen dress with gold detailing and a matching gold Marni clutch.
