Samantha Mumba opens up about motherhood

Samantha Mumba is well known for her singing and acting but in March 2015 she took on the role of first-time mum to daughter Sage. She told RTÉ LifeStyle that motherhood has become all consuming.

"I suppose if I had to describe myself as a mother... very hands on. Yeah, I'm pretty much obsessed with my daughter so it's her world and I just fit into that."

Being a working mum is never easy and Samantha says that she relies on family and expert scheduling to balance both worlds.

"I'm finding it really hard trying to juggle being a mum full-time and working. My daughter is my priority so yeah, I'm trying to figure that out and try and find stuff that I can do on work that kind of fits in around her schedule."

As the old saying goes 'All women become like their mothers', Samantha told RTÉ LifeStyle what traits she has taken on from her mother when it comes to parenting daughter Sage.

"I'm probably similar to my mam in the sense that I'm a bit of a sucker, like my mam was so nice and like rarely said no."
