Last Sunday on RTÉ One, we watched our celebrities battle it out on the dance floor for the first round of eliminations. Sadly, Big Brother star Hughie Maughan and his partner Emily Barker were voted off, leaving ten couples to dance another day.
The star-studded night was action packed and we had an absolute ball watching it all from behind the scenes. RTÉ LifeStyle's Soraiya Ryan caught up with model Thalia Heffernan to find out how she is coping with her insane work schedule and training with broken ribs.
"It was the training that cracked them in the first place so it's been tough. I've got them taped up now, I've had physio and stuff so that helps a little bit but yeah doing that drop today was painful."
Thalia says that her fellow competitors helped her channel the painful injury into a beautiful performance.
"That's what Denise (Actress Denise McCormack) was saying to me, she was like 'Just use that, you know, embody it, be so painfully in love' which was so difficult because I'm not an actor!"
From rehearsals to press and costume fittings to make-up, Dancing with the Stars may seem like a full-time job but that doesn't mean the stars get any time off from their day job! It felt as if we had only said goodbye to Thalia the dancer on Sunday night when we suddenly spied Thalia the model on the Arnotts runway!
When we asked the twenty-one-year-old how she was managing such a hectic schedule.
