A yoga pose a day will be uploaded onto RTÉ LifeStyle and you can watch the pose on my You Tube Channel, Performance Yoga. All easily done in your sitting room with minimum space needed. Try them out!

Pose 5: Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)

Physically, what’s it good for?

  • Posterior chain flexibility and strength – that’s gluts, hamstrings and calves.
  • Core strength
  • Shoulder mobility and strength
  • Breathing, lung capacity through deep breath.

This pose takes a lot of skill and practice to get right. Once in position, stay there for 6 deep breaths and ensure you feel a good stretch in the backs of your legs. Have a go and let me know what you think. Find more videos on my YouTube channel, Performance Yoga.
