Two Halves: The lads review week one of Euro 2020

It's the end of week one at Euro 2020 and RTÉjr Radio's soccer show, Two Halves, looks back at all the action so far. It's been a busy week, so there's a lot to pack in.

Presenters Jack and Harry Tomkins are thrilled to see that Italy have booked their place in the Last 16. Harry’s 'dark horse’ of the tournament Wales are on track to follow suit thanks to their two-nil win over Turkey in Baku.

With Ronaldo now the all-time leading scorer at the Euros, Two Halves asks if he will get the Golden Boot of this tournament or if Romelu Lukaku (Jack’s prediction) or Ciro Immobile will catch him.

As lifelong Tottenham Hotspur supporters, Jack and Harry were devastated to witness Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen’s medical emergency on the pitch last Saturday. The lads talk about their relief that the former Spurs' star is recovering in hospital.

RTÉ Sports reporter Kara Kelly is put through her paces when she catches up with the show to tell of her stand-out moments so far, her thoughts on how Group F is unfolding and what it’s like working behind the scenes during the tournament.

Two Halves meets the Petrovska family cheering on Poland from their home in County Wexford and find out who brother and sister Arter and Julia think were Poland’s stand-out players despite their 2-1 loss to Slovakia. This week’s match against Spain will be crucial but Dad Arter believes Poland can do the business!

They will also hear from young fans Naoise, Hugo and Jamie (who believes England might go all the way to the final.)

But, as always, Jack and Harry want to hear from YOU about your thoughts on Euro 2020.
