The updated Puffin Rock Wildlife Activity Book, a partnership project between the Heritage Council and Cartoon Saloon is here, along with information on workshops and the touring exhibition.

Inspired by the Irish-made Puffin Rock TV series, streaming now on RTÉ Player, and the animated feature Puffin Rock and the New Friends, this wonderful book aims to encourage a sense of wonder about biodiversity among children, educators, and parents.

The Puffin Rock Wildlife Activity Book integrates with the Irish primary curriculum, particularly in the area of SESE, including Science (Living things; Plants and Animals); Geography (Environmental awareness and care; Caring for my locality; Natural environments, The local environment). Other elements of the curriculum included are Maths (Numbers; Counting; Comparing and Ordering), as well as English (Reading; Reading, writing, oral language, Communicating/ Understanding/ Exploring and Using), Art (Painting; Construction; Making constructions), Music (Listening and responding; Exploring sounds).

Exhibition

As part of the initiative, there is a touring exhibition looking. This immersive learning experience is led by the beloved Oona and Baba who introduce you to the rich diversity of plants and animals on Puffin Rock, and the intricate relationships within and between each habitat.

Puffin Rock is a multiple award-winning pre‐school animated TV show (and feature film) for young children co-produced by Cartoon Saloon in Kilkenny and Dog Ears Studio in Derry. Series 1, 2 and 3 are streaming now on RTÉ Player.
