We all love cartoons, but usually we only think about watching them. But, why not try to make your own?

Take a look at the ins and outs of creating your own animation with some help from animation students, Saoirse Stephens and Paul Anderson.

Paul and Saoirse are currently in their 4th year of studying Digital Animation Production at Limerick IT Clonmel, and this is giving them a chance to study something that is also their passion.

Saoirse has adored cartoons since childhood, when she would watch them on The Den before school in the mornings. This gave her a love of animation that has stayed with her to this day.

Paul enjoyed drawing since a very early age and took an interest in bringing his skills into animation after learning about the college course, where he is enjoying the chance to study what he loves as well as learning some cool editing techniques too.

Their workshop is aimed at beginners and they will guide you through everything step by step, and of course you can pause and go back with the video tutorial at the top. The main thing is to give it a go and have fun.

You can learn how to make your own characters and how to make an easy animation right in your own home, there's no better way to start your journey as a young animator!
