One Little Indian - 2004 - 39 minutes
While Greg Dulli's brilliance as a composer and lyricist has resulted in some of the 90s most enduring albums, his talent for taking other people's songs and turning them into his own has also blazed brightly throughout his career.
During his time as frontman with The Afghan Whigs, Dulli released sublime versions of tracks by The Supremes, Al Green, Barry White, TLC and even got around to transforming 'If I Only Had a Heart' from 'The Wizard of Oz'.
Fans have wished and waited a long time for a whole album of covers, and now he duly obliges with the rightfully eclectic 'She Loves You'.
Making Bjork's 'Hyperballad' and Martina Topley-Bird's 'Too Tough to Die' become two of your own finest moments are just two of the stunning feats here and Dulli follows them up with 'reimaginings' of John Coltrane, Marvin Gaye and Fleetwood Mac, among others.
Beautiful and intoxicating, 'She Loves You' will push listeners deeper into Dulli's world while making them hungry for more from the original artists.
And unlike some things in this world, it's forever.
