The new trailer for the Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal-starring Hamnet has been released ahead of the Oscar-tipped film's arrival in cinemas in the New Year.
Directed by the Oscar-winning Chloé Zhao (Nomadland, The Rider), Hamnet "tells the powerful love story that inspired the creation of Shakespeare's timeless masterpiece, Hamlet".
Mescal plays William Shakespeare and Buckley plays Agnes, his wife.
Hamnet is based on the bestseller of the same name by author Maggie O'Farrell, with O'Farrell and Zhao adapting the book for the screen.
The novel is about William Shakespeare's son Hamnet, who died at the age of 11 in 1596, and his parents' subsequent grief.
The film also stars Emily Watson and Joe Alwyn.
Hamnet will be released in cinemas on Friday 9 January.
