Veronica Falcón, May Calamawy, and May Elghety have joined Jack Reynor and Laia Costa in the cast of The Mummy, the upcoming film from Irish writer-director Lee Cronin.
Production for the film, which is due in cinemas in April 2026, is currently underway in Ireland and Spain, with plot details under wraps.

Speaking about his new film, Dubliner Cronin, who made his Hollywood debut with Evil Dead Rise, said, "This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before. I'm digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening."
The Dubliner is teaming up with filmmakers Jason Blum and James Wan's recently combined production companies, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, for the project.
The film is part of Cronin's first-look deal with the Warner Bros-owned New Line Cinema. His own production company, Doppelgängers, is also among the producers.
A native of Mexico City, Veronica Falcón has over three decades of work spanning film, television, theatre and choreography, and was most recently seen in Blumhouse’s supernatural thriller Imaginary.
She also played Trader Sam opposite Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise. She also starred in A Million Miles Away alongside Michael Peña, Voyagers, opposite Colin Farrell, and The Forever Purge.
She has also starred in such television roles in Queen of the South, Ozark, Perry Mason with Matthew Rhys and John Lithgow, and Apple TV+’s Mr. Corman.

May Calamawy has starred in Moon Knight and her upcoming work includes The Actor opposite Andre Holland and Gemma Chan.
Egyptian actress May Elghety began her career as a child, hosting programs and starring in theatre, and gained international recognition through projects like Disney Plus’s Kizazi Moto and her upcoming English-speaking role in Due Dating.

Cronin's Evil Dead Rise has grossed nearly $150 million worldwide. He made his big-screen debut in 2019 with the acclaimed Irish horror The Hole in the Ground.
