Tonight sees the first elimination. So that’s certainly going to focus the minds of all involved.

It’s been fun and hard work – but now the battle to survive begins and Dancing With the Stars takes on a whole new layer of competitiveness.

Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy present while Judges Arthur, Brian and Loraine will be on hand to ffer their opinions and suggestions to the stars.

But this is where the public vote comes into play, and one of the celebrity dancers will be hanging up their dancing shoes and heading for home.

Wilderness with Simon Reeve, 9.00pm, BBC Two

There’s a notable humanity about Simon Reeve’s shows – and this new series should be no different.

Here he travels through some of the most remote landscapes on Earth in search of the people and the wildlife of earth's greatest wildernesses.

He begins in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, encountering thick jungles and tropical swamps as he looks for the people and wildlife whose home is Africa's greatest rainforest.

His first destination is the remote village of Baka, where Simon experiences a culture based on sharing resources and respecting all living things in the rainforest.

Sloinne, 8.45pm, TG4

This new series offers a deep dive behind the stories of Ireland's most famous surnames.

First up, Mazz O'Flaherty, Dingle record shop owner, goes in search of the history of the O'Flaherty surname.

Her story takes her to Galway and the Aran Islands as she is interested in Oscar Wilde having Flaherty as part of his surname.

Mazz meets historian Adrian Martyn who shows her an O'Flaherty Crannóg in Caherlistrane in county Galway, followed by Aughnanure Castle, which the O'Flahertys resided in at the peak of their power.

Russell Maliphant's Vortex, 9.00pm, BBC Four

If you fancy some serious dance after watching Dancing With the Stars, give this visual treat a try.

Award-winning choreographer Russell Maliphant uses American abstract painter Jackson Pollock as inspiration for his latest dance piece.

Producer and Director Martin Collins takes the audience on a visual journey with the performances of the Russell Maliphant Dance Company, filmed live at the legendary Sadler's Wells theatre in London.

New to Stream

The Queen Mary, Sky Cinema & NOW

This intriguing horror movie set on the famous ship Queen Mary stars Alice Eve, Joel Fry, Nell Hudson, Angus Wright and Jim Piddock.

In the early twentieth century, shipping lines competed to be the fastest to complete a transatlantic crossing.

But among the most famous record-holders was the RMS Queen Mary, which held the record for fourteen years, but now stands encased in concrete at Long Beach, California, where it has been used for many years as a luxury hotel and tourist attraction.

The ship has a lengthy history of visitors reporting seeing ghosts and visions in its rooms and on its decks, making it the perfect setting for paranormal goings-on on the big screen.

In The Queen Mary, a haunting story is unravelled between the ship's heyday in the late 1930s and the present and tells the story of two families whose lives become violently entangled.

This week Dermot Bannon attempts to help Sandra and Daniel Davey make their home in Knocklyon, Dublin more liveable and increase its energy efficiency.

Dermot attempts to make their dream a reality with a tight budget and a one-stop-shop for the construction.

The couple are struggling with a conservatory added by its previous owners, which is leaking and therefore making the room very cold.

Call the Midwife, 8.00pm, BBC One

Violet Buckle considers running for Mayor of Poplar, but fails to notice that hubby Fred isn't his usual cheery self.

Events take a dramatic turn and it looks like her campaign will have to be abandoned.

Elsewhere, a pregnant model who began her career in infancy makes plans for her child to follow in her footsteps.

But when the child is born, Nurse Crane must help her cope with a difficult diagnosis.

The Tourist, 9.00pm, BBC One

In the penultimate episode of season 2, Helen is drawn to the mysteries of the past.

But as she digs deeper into the McDonnell and Cassidy feud, she and Elliot realise that the truth may destroy their relationship.

Meanwhile, Elliot is forced to reckon with the consequences of his actions and must make a choice in order to protect the ones he loves.

Niamh refuses to back down but runs the risk of hurting others in the process.

A practically perfect Edwardian nanny brings magical fun, laughter and adventure into the humdrum lives of a young brother and sister - much to the alarm of their disciplinarian father.
