Irish actress Alisha Weir stars in the upcoming horror movie Abigail - check out the first trailer of what looks like a very gruesome tale.
You may recognise Alisha Weir from her critically acclaimed performance in Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical. She's back on the big screen later this year in Abigail, but be warned, this movie is not not for the faint hearted, or a younger audience.
Abigail tells the story of a group of would-be criminals who kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure. In order to collect a $50 million ransom, all they have to do is watch the her overnight.
Sounds easy right?
However as the captors start to dwindle one by one, it becomes clear that this is no normal little girl they are dealing with...
Weir stars alongside Melissa Barrera (Scream franchise, In the Heights), Dan Stevens (Gaslit, Legion), and Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Freaky), as well as the late Angus Cloud.
Abigail is set to be released in Irish cinemas later this year.
