Pick of the Day

Joe Lycett: More, More, More! How Do You Lycett? How Do You Lycett? 9.00pm, Channel 4

Joe Lycett's first stand-up touring show in several years is apparently packed with more jokes, more comedy anecdotes and more inappropriate and arguably disturbing paintings.

And it’s all in the hope of answering the age-old question: How do you Lycett?

One can only wonder what Andrea True would make of it all.

Don’t Miss

Celebrity MasterChef, 9.00pm, BBC One

The last of the semi-final contests sees the celebrities asked to cook the ultimate airline food to celebrate the golden age of travel.

Each must create a main course, a side dish and a dessert that will be served in first class style.

The celebrities' meal is key to staying on course for the ultimate stage of the competition as at the end of this edition, only the five best cooks will go through to Finals Week.

Presented, as usual, by John Torode and Gregg Wallace (above).

The Young Offenders, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Another chance to see the film version of the hit comedy, starring Alex Murphy and Chris Walley as the dynamic duo causing havoc in Cork.

Cork teenagers Conor and Jock embark on a 160km road trip on stolen bikes in the hopes of salvaging a bale of cocaine that has reportedly gone missing from a drug seizure off the coast.

New to Stream

Tár, Sky Cinema Premiere

This psychological drama won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s more Art House than Mission: Impossible, but it boasts one of the great central performances of recent times.

Cate Blanchett leads a cast that includes Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer, Mark Strong and Julian Glover in Todd Field’s masterpiece.

Blanchett puts in a career-defining shift- how did she not win an Oscar? - as Lydia Tár, the groundbreaking conductor of a major German Orchestra.

We meet Tár at the height of her career, as she's preparing both a book launch and much-anticipated live performance of Mahler's Fifth Symphony.

Over the ensuing weeks her life begins to unravel in a singularly modern way. The result is a searing examination of power, and its impact and durability in today's ultra-judgmental society.

Here's my review.

The Wheel of Time, Prime Video

The lives of five young villagers change when a strange and powerful woman arrives, claiming one of them is the child of an ancient prophecy with the power to tip the balance between Light and Dark.

They must choose whether to trust this stranger - and each other - with the fate of the world before the Dark One breaks out of His prison, and the Last Battle begins.

Disenchantment, Netflix

Here’s the fifth and final run of Matt Groening’s medieval animation.

Well, folks. It all endeth here.

The misadventures of hard-hitting, hard-drinking Queen Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo and her personal demon Luci culminate in an epic battle for Dreamland.

To save Dreamland from Queen Dagmar’s wicked rule, Bean must vanquish her mother and outrun a prophecy that foretells she will kill someone she loves.

The stakes are as high as ever as our heroes face Satan, a headless corpse, and most terrifying of all - their true destiny.

Ending Today

The Power of Parker, 9.30pm, BBC One

Here’s the final episode of this 1990-set comedy, written by and starring Sian Gibson, with Rosie Cavaliero, Conleth Hill, Sheila Reid and Steve Pemberton.

It's the big day for Kath and Diane as they attempt to finally exact their revenge on Martin.

But while Diane has never felt more alive, Kath seems to be having second thoughts.
