A profile of the poet, whose work and anecdotes bear witness to a visceral relationship with his beloved Dublin, fellow residents of the capital and anything that catches his interest.
From Malahide in Dublin, Pat turned 81 last Friday.
Review: Pat Ingoldsby - the people's poet under the hat
And for Irish folk of a certain age, he will always be remembered for his TV shows on RTÉ, including Pat's Hat, Pat's Chat and Pat's Pals.

Personal challenges, a sensitive humanity and a lifetime as a maverick have taught him to harness reality and reach well beyond it to avenge the banal with absurd magic.
I got to know Pat briefly, when we both wrote for In Dublin magazine in the early 1990s, and he left an indelible impression. A truly unique individual.
