Joanne McNally and Vogue Williams kicked off Friday night’s Late Late Show with a bang.

The pair, best-known for their successful podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me, brought the laughs and the glamour, with Williams donning a neon yellow dress and McNally dazzling in a glitter jacket and a mini-skirt.

Comedian McNally spoke about her happiness at turning 40 last week, saying she is "leaning into" the age.

Presenter Ryan Tubridy asked her if she fretted about the milestone. She said, "There was fretting in my early 30s… I think everyone has one identity crisis in their life. You’ve one.

"They called it mid-life crisis if it happens around your mid-life - but mid-life doesn’t exist anymore - I’m 40, it’s the new 20 - freeze your face, freeze your eggs, get on with your life! Defrost your child at 70 if you want. Who cares? Age doesn’t matter anymore."

"But I’ve had the whole identity crisis in my early 30s… the whole 'Who am I?’ ‘What am I doing?’

"By the time I hit 40, I was almost like, ‘Come on’ - I want the next decade. Let’s go!"

She added, "I feel the happiest I’ve ever felt."

When asked if she treated herself to a special gift for her birthday, she said, "I wanted to buy a Louis Vuitton bum bag - this was my dream.

"But then I was in New York and they sell those fake ones for 70 quid and I was like, ‘Boom! I’m not spending money on a real one’ - why would you when you can buy it out of a pram down an alleyway - so much more thrilling!"

She continued, "I was bricking it, ‘cos it felt like it was very illegal. And then this New York cop came up to the pram, and I genuinely was like, ‘Oh, we’re busted’ - but he was buying a Chanel tote for his wife! So it’s just standard."

Vogue referred to the last time she appeared on The Late Late Show, saying, "I’m not having a repeat of the last time I was here - no thanks."

When asked by Tubridy what had happened, she answered, "The last time I was here, I arrived home around 2am, and woke up in my sister’s bed, with all my clothes on."

"That could have been a lot worse," quipped McNally, "I thought you were going to say that you woke up in Ryan’s bed!"

McNally continued, "If it was the last [Late Late] show now, we’d all end up in the same bed I’d say!"

"That took a turn!" responded Tubridy.

The presenter asked the pair about how their very successful business relationship works, with McNally saying, "It’s a constant battle about who’s in charge. Ultimately, all jokes aside, Vogue is very much in charge - Vogue is like Mr [Alan] Sugar. Vogue is the money woman, the businesswoman."

"Vogue is now also a full-blown comedian, which I’m thrilled about," she said sarcastically, saying to her podcast co-host, "If you get a Netflix special, I will KICK OFF!"

The duo have added three more December dates onto their live podcast tour - The Royal Theatre Castlebar, The Gleneagle INEC Arena Killarney and a fifth night onto their run at 3Arena Dublin, making them the first podcast to play five nights at the venue.
