Belfast's Ciarán Hinds has been cast opposite Mrs Harris Goes to Paris star Lesley Manville in Midwinter Break, a big-screen adaptation of acclaimed author Bernard MacLaverty's 2017 book of the same name.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the film will mark the feature directorial debut of Olivier Award-winning theatre director Polly Findlay.
Midwinter Break tells the story of Gerry and Stella, a married couple who arrive at a crossroads in their relationship while on a trip to Amsterdam.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the film's producer, Guy Heeley, said: "The prospect of Polly Findlay's razor-sharp take on this powerful and affecting story with its quietly devastating reveal, and with the simply brilliant Lesley Manville and Ciarán Hinds at its heart, is simply thrilling."
The Dry star Hinds was among the winners at the Irish Film and Television Awards last Sunday night.
