Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan is to star alongside singer The Weeknd and Wednesday's Jenna Ortega in the new film from Waves director Trey Edward Shults, which is currently in production.
US entertainment trade publication Deadline reports that the film is as yet untitled, and the plot is "being kept under wraps".

Director Shults co-wrote the script with The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - who will make his feature acting debut in the film.
"Even though both Ortega and Keoghan have been weighing several offers following their big years, both made it clear they wanted this as their next project, and following their commitments, the film was a go," Deadline says.

BAFTA winner Keoghan is Oscar-nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.
The Oscars take place in Los Angeles on Sunday 12 March.
