Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson 'miss awards due to Covid'

It is reported that The Banshees of Inisherin stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson will miss tonight's Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles after testing positive for Covid-19.

Entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says it received confirmation of the news from a representative for Farrell.

The Dublin stars both attended the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night, where Farrell won Best Actor - one of three wins for writer-director Martin McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin.

Farrell is nominated in the Best Actor category and Gleeson is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category at the Critics Choice Awards for their performances in The Banshees of Inisherin. The film itself, writer-director McDonagh, and co-stars Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan are also among the nominees.

Other Irish nominees at the awards at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel include Jessie Buckley (Women Talking), Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient), Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), and Paul Mescal (Aftersun).
