RuthAnne shares Grammy nomination joy

Singer-songwriter RuthAnne Cunningham has cause to celebrate after an album she contributed to has been nominated for an Emmy.

The Dubliner was involved with the composition of a song called I Still Believe, which is on Diana Ross' 25th album, Thank You and is the running for an Emmy in the category of Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Posting on Instagram, RuthAnne said: "Aaaaahhhh Grammy Nominated!!! So happy to be a part of this nomination with the ICON @dianaross ladies we did it @autumnrowe @iamvioletskies @charliemccleanmusic @weareshewrites #besttraditionalpopvocalalbum congrats to all the nominees ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏,"

She was previously nominated for a Grammy for working with superstar John Legend on his album, A Legendary Christmas, and she released her debut album, Matters of the Heart, two years ago.

She has also written for Niall Horan who chose her song, Nice to Meet You, as the lead single on his most recent album.

The 38-year-old songwriter also spearheaded the Irish Women in Harmony group who released a cover of The Cranberries' Dreams during lockdown to raise money for domestic-violence charity Safe Ireland, and a reworking of Eleanor McEvoy's A Woman’s Heart into Only A Woman in July.
