The Irish actor Ferdia Walsh-Peelo is celebrating after the coming-of-age story CODA, in which he is part of the ensemble, won the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture award at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
CODA, which stands for Child of Deaf Adults, tells the story of Ruby (Emilia Jones), the only hearing person in a Deaf family.

Sing Street star Walsh-Peelo plays Ruby's schoolfriend Miles, who shares her interest in music.
CODA also stars Deaf actors Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur and Daniel Durant.
Kotsur became the first Deaf actor to win an individual SAG award on Sunday night. He is nominated for Best Supporting Actor at this year's Oscars.
CODA is also nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards while its director, Sian Heder, is shortlisted for Best Adapted Screenplay.
