'She was robbed!' Outlander massive react to Caitríona Balfe Oscar 'snub'

The Outlander massive hath spoken and they're mad as hell after Irish actress Caitríona Balfe lost out on an Oscar nomination to her Belfast co-star Judi Dench.

There was disappointment in the Best Supporting Actress category for Monaghan star Balfe, who rose to fame playing time-travelling nurse Claire Randall in hit show Outlander, when the nominations were announced this afternoon.

It was a very good day for the Irish with The Lost Daughter star Jessie Buckley and Belfast's Kenneth Branagh, Ciarán Hinds and Van Morrison among the nominees for this year's Oscars.

There was surprise that Ruth Negga also missed out on a nomination for her acclaimed role in Passing but fans of Balfe have taken to twitter to register their disgust at what they see as a snub.
