Irish actress Caitríona Balfe has won best actress for her role as Claire Fraser in the series Outlander at the Saturn Awards in Los Angeles.
This is her third Saturn Award.
The Monaghan actress has also been nominated four times for a Golden Globe, won two People's Choice Awards and an Irish Film and Television Award.

The Saturn Awards are presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films but include television and home media releases.
This year due to the pandemic, the eligibility period for the awards covered both 2019 as well as 2020.

Other big winners on the night included Rian Johnson's thriller Knives Out, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood and Disney’s live-action Mulan. John David Washington was named Best Actor for Christopher Nolan’s time-bender Tenet while Elisabeth Moss won Best Actress for The Invisible Man.
