Speaking about the track, he says, "I was at a point where I started to look at myself and then began to look around me. If the past eighteen months has taught us anything it's that our world and lives can change in an instant.

"When I reflected on the way I had been living my own life pre-Covid I didn’t like what I saw. I began to focus on the idea of a fresh start and a new beginning for us all and that’s where the idea of this track eventually came from."

Learn to Live was written and recorded at home in Richie’s studio with the help of producer and collaborator Greg Kavna and was mastered in New York by Grammy award winning mastering engineer Steve Fallone.

The track features Dec Quinn (Republic of Loose, The Love Tailors) on keys and Ben Castle (Villagers, Gregory Porter, Duke Special) on saxophone.

Tell us three things about yourself?

My name is Richie Din Martin, I'm a singer-songwriter from Dublin and my debut single Learn to Live has just been released on all digital platforms.

How would you describe your music?

Uplifting, alternative, singer-songwriter, acoustic folk.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Everyone and everything - Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. Paul Simon has been a big influence. Anything and anyone with movement and colour in their music these days. I listen to lots of different genres and types of music, there's so much out there at the moment to discover.

What are you most looking forward to post-lockdown?

Meeting up with friends and family I haven't seen since lockdown, sharing music and dinners with loved ones, and travelling again.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Midnight in Harlem by Tedeschi Trucks Band. Pure groove and feel!

Favourite lyric of all time?

Nothin' ain't worth nothin' but it's free - Me and Bobby McGee by Kris Kristofferson.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

It would have to be Dancing In The Moonlight by Thin Lizzy. I was and still am a massive Thin Lizzy fan, its testament to Philio's writing that the song feels as fresh today as it was when it was recorded. I never get tired of listening to it.

Where can people find your music/more information?

My website, Spotify and Soundcloud.
