Disney has announced that rising star Rachel Zegler will play the lead role in its live-action remake of Snow White.
New Jersey native Zegler is set to make her feature film debut in December, playing Maria in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story. She is due to begin filming Snow White in 2022 and is currently working on the Shazam sequel.
After her Snow White casting was announced, the 20-year-old tweeted: "I HAVE MANIFESTED MY ENTIRE LIFE I THINK I THINK."

She also shared a video of her meeting Snow White at a Disney theme park and captioned it: "homegirl we have LOTS to catch up on."

500 Days of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb, who will direct Snow White, said in a statement: "Rachel's extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts.
"Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale."
