Robert De Niro's leg injury will have no impact on the filming of Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon, according to the actor’s representative.

De Niro was hurt at the house where he is staying in Oklahoma as he films the new movie.

"While at his on-location home in Oklahoma for the filming of Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon, Robert De Niro injured his quadriceps muscle which will be treated medically in New York," De Niro’s rep told The Hollywood Reporter.

"This will not affect production as he was not scheduled to film again for another three weeks."

Killers of the Flower Moon, which stars De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, is based on a book of the same name and is Scorsese’s first Western.

It portrays the murders of the native Osage people in 1920s Oklahoma, where oil deposits were discovered.

The film, which will air on Apple TV+, is reported to have a budget of over $200million, which makes it the veteran director's most expensive project yet. .

De Niro plays powerful rancher William Hale, while DiCaprio plays his nephew, Ernest Burkhart. The rest of the cast features Lilly Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, and country music stars Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.
