Following Monday's shock announcement that they were splitting up, sales and streams of Daft Punk's back catalogue have rocketed by over 2000%.

The Parisian duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have called it a day after 28 years together, after enjoying global hits with tracks such as One More Time, Around the World and Get Lucky.

Last Monday, streams of their back catalogue jumped by 500% compared to the previous day, while physical sales were up 1,335% and digital album sales were up 2650%, Rolling Stone has reported.

Daft Punk's farewell is a fitting conclusion to their reign.

The duo’s 2001 album Discovery had the biggest sales spike after it was streamed more than 1.5 million times on Monday alone, an increase of 426% on the previous day.

Streams of Get Lucky were up 180%, One More Time up 368%, Harder Better Faster Stronger up 418%), Around the World up 381% and Instant Crush up 392%.

Almost half a million people also streamed Daft Punk on Spotify for the first time on Monday.
