Sex Education star Simone Ashley is to play the female lead role in the second season of Netflix's breakout hit Bridgerton.
Ashley - recently seen in ITV whodunnit Because the Night - has been cast as Kate Sharma, the love interest of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).
"Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools - Anthony Bridgerton very much included," teases Netflix.

The second season of Bridgerton is due to begin filming shortly.
Season two is based on Bridgerton author Julia Quinn's second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
