Coldplay are believed to be recording a new album to be called Music Of The Spheres.

The vinyl release of the band's most recent album, 2019's Everyday Life, contains the title "Music Of The Spheres" written on the artwork.

While a fourth, miniature caption stating "Coldplay coming soon" led fans to guess it was the name of the band's next album being revealed early.

According to The Sun, a person close to the band has confirmed that they have been recording new music throughout lockdown for songs which will be on their ninth studio album.

"Chris and co. have been dropping hints for a while but now it’s finally getting off the ground," the source said. "They’ve been busy working on new music during lockdown and it’ll all culminate in the record, which has the working title Music Of The Spheres."

Expect some cryptic marketing device or campaign when things firm up and the album is ready to roll. Already the band - Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – have reportedly trademarked the title Music of the Spheres.

In autumn 2019, the band used classified adverts in newspapers around the world to reveal the track-listing for their then imminent double album release, Everyday Life.

The back page of an October edition of The Irish Times had carried the intriguing clues and the album was duly released the following month.

Meanwhile, Coldplay front man Chris Martin is reported to have moved in with Fifty Shades actress Dakota Johnson whom he has been dating for the past three years.
