Irish five-piece Fontaines D.C. have been nominated for their first Grammy Award for their second album, A Hero's Death.

In a live-streamed ceremony on Tuesday, the Dublin-based band were announced as nominees in the Best Rock Album category, alongside The Strokes, Sturgill Simpson, Grace Potter and Michael Kiwanuka.

The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards on Tuesday, with the organization's Chair and Interim President/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. announcing the nominees with help from the likes of Dua Lipa, Sharon Osbourne, Nicola Benedetti, and Imogen Heap.
Fontaines D.C.: "We went from hangover to euphoria."
In total, there are 84 categories and the 63rd Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, 31st January, 2021, with Trevor Noah as host.
