The BBC has confirmed that there have been two positive cases of coronavirus on the EastEnders set at Elstree Studios outside London, but filming on the soap will not be affected.

An EastEnders spokesperson said that two members of the EastEnders team are self-isolating at home.

"We can confirm that two members of the EastEnders team have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating at home following the latest government guidelines," said the spokesperson.

"We have rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19, as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount."

EastEnders resumed filming under Covid-19 safety protocols at the end of June.

EastEnders airs on RTÉ One and BBC One on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
