There may have been no red carpet at this year's Emmys, but Regina King made a statement with her clothes as she accepted the award for outstanding lead actress in a limited series or movie while wearing a Breonna Taylor T-shirt.
Instead of wearing a glamourous gown, King chose to wear a T-shirt bearing the face of Breonna Taylor, who was shot and killed by police in Kentucky in March.
King, who was recognised for her role in HBO's searing drama Watchmen, said: "This is so freaking weird," as she accepted the award from her home.
She then paid tribute to her fellow nominees, including Kerry Washington and Cate Blanchett.
An emotional King continued, "I truly love being a thespian" before thanking Watchmen creator Damon Lindelof for his "brilliant mind".
Watchmen explores systemic racism and white supremacy. King acknowledged the show's themes as she urged people to vote, adding: "I would be remiss not to mention that".
She finished her speech with a tribute to late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and said: "It is very important, be a good human. Rest in power"
