The Press Association reports that the Irishman and Goodfellas director said of his experience: "What I look forward to in the future is carrying with me what I have been forced to learn in these circumstances.
"It is the essential. The people you love. Being able to take care of them and be with them as much as you can."
Historian and host Beard said the film sees Scorsese "at home, and he's thinking about the lockdown through the lens of classic movies, like [Alfred] Hitchcock's The Wrong Man".
"I was absolutely over the moon when Scorsese agreed to do it for us."
She added that having the short on the show felt "like we were going to be hosting our own mini premiere".
