Speaking on Friday night's Late Late Show, Niall, who has just released his second solo album Heartbreak Weather, said, "It’s an email chain. You’d think we were 45-year-old men. I don’t know but it’s an email chain for some reason . . . "
Asked what he would do if he got a call tomorrow to get the boy band back together, Niall replied, "Well, I’ve a tour booked so I’d probably say no. I’m really enjoying what I’m doing now and if it wasn’t for 1D I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now. It’s just a case of when everyone’s ready."
Niall, who performed his new single No Judgement on the show, also revealed that he didn't get to go to his Debs because he never did his Leaving Cert when he was in school in Mullingar.

"I would have loved to have gone to a Debs. Don’t know who I would have brought, that’s the biggest problem. I would’ve have liked to have done my Leaving Cert but apparently you don’t need it. Hahahaha.
"I was alright at school. Bs and Cs and the odd D, failed history at the Junior Cert but that’s because the teacher didn’t really like me. I was alright. I don’t think I would’ve taken over the world.
"There was no-one there going, `I’ll tell ya what, that fella is going to be a lawyer’. I was alright but I was lazy, all I wanted to do was music.
He added: "I was told that music was going to be very hard, which it is. It might not happen so you need school to fall back on and to be fair a lot of the time that is true and I was just at the right place at the right time, willing to put in the work and I got lucky and didn’t need my Leaving Cert."
