Niall Horan was left red-faced during a recent stint on The Late Late Show with James Corden after he was forced to relive One Direction's first performance on The X Factor.

The 26-year-old singer was shown a video of 1D belting out Coldplay's Viva la Vida from 2010 and admitted how clips from the singing competition "haunt him every day".

The Mullingar man, who releases his second solo album Heartbreak Weather this Friday, joked: "It's gifs, it’s memes, it’s my whole life. But what a glow-up!"

He added: "Those performances haunt me, but I mean, I wouldn’t be here without them."

Horan was on the show to promote his new album, which he will take on tour around the US with friend Lewis Capaldi supporting him.

Last month Horan told RTÉ Entertainment that it would be "stupid" for One Direction not to reform and promised that the boy band would have an "even better time when we do it again."
