Friends duo Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, Ben Stiller and Adam Scott will be trapped in an escape room as part of network NBC's Red Nose Day fundraiser for Comic Relief US on May 21.

The Hollywood Reporter says Jack Black and Stiller are among the executive producers of the hour-long Celebrity Escape Room, which will see Black locking Cox, Kudrow, Stiller and Scott in the escape room, with the quartet winning money for charity as they progress.

The show will be followed by a two-hour telethon on NBC to fight child poverty.

"Kicking off with Ben Stiller's hilarious Celebrity Escape Room, NBC's Red Nose Day lineup is the perfect vehicle to help drive this year’s fundraising efforts," said NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy.

"We are privileged to continue our support of this incredible cause in partnership with our amazing friends at Comic Relief US as we work together on behalf of children in need around the world."

Cox and Kudrow will also reunite in May with their Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer for an unscripted Friends special on US streaming service HBO Max.

The special is part of a deal that will see it and all 236 episodes of Friends debut exclusively and simultaneously on HBO Max when it launches in the US in May. Friends left Netflix in the US on December 31, 2019. It is still available on Netflix in Ireland and the UK.
