Pretty Little Liars actress Rebecca Breeds will play the leading role in Clarice, the upcoming TV sequel to The Silence of the Lambs.
The Australian actress's character in the spin-off of the 1991 film, which follows the next steps of the FBI agent Clarice Starling in the year 1993, was originally played by Jodie Foster, who won an Oscar for her portrayal.
Thank you thank you thank you for the role of a life time. Think I've earned myself a nice glass of Chianti... 🐑🍷 https://t.co/USVMr6dTH7— Rebecca Breeds (@BecEBreeds) February 26, 2020
The TV drama picks up from when Clarice catches Buffalo Bill, thanks to Hannibal Lecter, and continues the hunt for other serial killers and predators.
Clarice producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet said: "Clarice’s bravery and complexity have always lit the way, even as her personal story remained in the dark. But hers is the very story we need today: her struggle, her resilience, her victory. Her time is now, and always."
