It's the biggest night in music, the 62nd Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night. Take a look at all the glitz and glam as the who's who of the music world made their way down the red carpet.

A whole host of musical talents took to the stage last tonight including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys and Aerosmith - you can watch highlights from the star-studded show on RTÉ 2 from 9.00pm tonight.

In their first Grammy nomination, Limerick band The Cranberries missed out on the award for Best Rock Album for their final album In The End after US act Cage The Elephant took the award with Social Dues.

The Cranberries' album was released last year as a tribute to their late singer and friend Dolores O'Riordan. 

In the End was nominated alongside albums by Bring Me The Horizon, Cage The Elephant, I Prevail and Rival Sons.

Lewis Capaldi is a first-time Grammy nominee

23-year-old Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi is nominated in the Song of the Year category for his breakthrough hit, Someone You Loved.

Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish had been nominated in six categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist. 

It's been a big year for 18-year-old Bad Guy singer Billie Eilish who has not only been nominated for six Grammys but has also signed on to write and record the next Bond theme tune with her brother and music producer Finneas.

After revealing earlier this week that he's suffering from Parkinson's disease, Ozzy Osbourne is set to present an award tonight with his wife Sharon.

The Black Sabbath frontman joins a star-studded list of presenters that includes Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder and Shania Twain.

Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande is shortlisted in 5 categories including Album of the Year

As well as being nominated, Ariana Grande is set to perform during tonight's show. Her appearance marks her return to the Grammys after she backed-out out of performing at the last minute last year. According to Variety, producers did not want her to perform 7 Rings, which is nominated in this year's Record of the Year category.

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus will perform their viral worldwide hit Old Town Road with BTS, Diplo, Mason Ramsey and other surprise guests in a segment which is billed as Old Town Road All-Stars.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will perform live together for the first time

Speaking about her custom-made Dolce and Gabbana dress Stefani told E! News that "Blake has been gathering shells over the last four years since we met. It's actually Dolce and Gabbana, but they did use some of the shells Blake collected for me over the years."

"Now I don't know whether to believe that or not," host Ryan Seacrest responded, looking to Shelton. "Is that true?"

"Of course, man," he replied, pointing to the dress. "Actually, some of these still have creatures in them..."

The Jonas Brothers made their return to the Grammys red carpet after almost a decade, this time supported by their respective wives, Priyanka, Sophie and Danielle. Nick, Joe and Kevin are nominated for Best Pop/Duo Performance for their hit track, Sucker.

Also nominated in the Best Pop/Duo Performance category are Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello for their track Señorita.
