Netflix has unveiled the title and release date of the upcoming Breaking Bad movie, as well as a teaser for the film, but its leading star Aaron Paul doesn't seem happy.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will arrive on the streaming service on October 11, the company tweeted, along with a minute long clip showing a man being interrogated about the whereabouts of Paul's character Jesse Pinkman.

Rumours of a follow-up to the TV series, which ran for five seasons from 2008 to 2013, have been circulating for a number of years. Paul and Bryan Cranston, who played Walter White, recently posted cryptic tweets that sent fans into a frenzy, but it turned out they were unveiling their own brand of tequila.

A few days ago, the show's star Bob Odenkirk, who went on to lead spin-off prequel series Better Call Saulrevealed that a Breaking Bad movie was already in the can.

The official announcement was subsequently made and the first teaser trailer unveiled to the world.

Paul took to Twitter to lament the way their hard-kept secret was made public.

He wrote: "Wait, I thought there was only Mezcal on the horizon? I'm so confused. Oh wait, got it. I understand now. It's about patience. I guess there is a movie happening after all? Didn’t realize I could talk about it. I guess I can. Thanks New York Times for blowing up this 'secret'."

When a fan tweeted that his words sounded "really passive aggressive", the actor replied: "Yeah no kidding my friend. I have literally been the only person on this planet to not talk about this damn thing and now here we are."

He added on a more positive note: "Vince absolutely crushed this thing on the page and on film. Thrilled for the world to finally see this piece of cinema history."

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will see Aaron Paul returning as crystal meth cook Jesse Pinkman and is written by the show's creator Vince Gilligan. It is unclear if Bryan Cranston will return as White to star in the film.

The TV show's extraordinary final episode saw (SPOILER!) the seemingly indestructible White finally die (right?) and Pinkman hightailing it out of town after being freed from slavery in a drug factory, so is there any possible way two of the best TV characters of all time can be reunited?
