Sylvester Stallone has unveiled the new trailer for Rambo: Last Blood as the action icon brings the claret-soaked curtain down on his 37-year-old franchise.

"I finally came home... to defend the only family I've ever known," drawls Rambo in the trailer.

The body count has soon reached double figures - and the trailer is only a minute long.

Rambo: Last Blood is released in cinemas on September 19

Among those joining Stallone for Rambo's swansong are: Paz Vega (Sex and Lucia), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Life Itself), Adriana Barraza (Babel), Yvette Monreal (The Fosters), Joaquin Cosio (Narcos: Mexico) and
Óscar Jaenada (The Shallows). 

Rambo: Last Blood is directed by Adrian Grunberg, whose credits include Narcos and Narcos: Mexico.

The mayhem is unleashed in cinemas on September 19.
